A. RITA CHANDELLIER GLAVIN has been in private practice with the law offices of Glavin and Glavin since 1965. She is a former Surrogate Court Judge of Saratoga County, the first woman to hold major judicial office in Saratoga County, and first woman Surrogate in the New York Capital District Region.
She has served as: the Confidential Law Clerk for the Judges of the New York State Court of Claims; Trustee and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Middlebury College; Member of the Council (board) of the State University of New York at Albany; Member of the Advisory Board, Bellevue Maternity Hospital in Niskayuna, New York; and Member of the Board Association of Council Members and College Trustees (SUNY).
She is a past President of Saratoga County Bar Association and Member of the House of Delegates, New York State Bar Association. She has been a President of the Upper Hudson Association of Phi Beta Kappa; director and finance committee chair of the Schenectady YWCA; and director of the Schenectady Junior League.
